Publisher Charles-River media has released a third book in the AI Game Programming series. This book 'AI Game Programming Wisdom 3' contains two articles to which William contributed.
In 'Being a Better Buddy: Interpreting the Player's Behavior', the buddy AI attempts to read the player's behavior by tagging his actions and running these tags through a naïve Bayes classifier.
The chapter 'Dynamic Tactical Position Evaluation', written together with Remco Straatman and Arjen Beij of Guerrilla, details the tactical behaviors implemented using position evaluation in the Killzone and Nam Shellshock '67 games. (Also note the two Killzone screenshots on the cover of the book).
